🎮This Week in Gaming

GOG shared some of the challenges they face in their preservation program.

To keep some titles alive or to bring them back, the team in charge has faced a fair number of challenges, and sometimes this includes finding the people who hold the rights of specific IPs.

According to the senior biz dev manager, Marcin Paczynski, in one case they had to hire a private investigator to find someone who had the rights to some titles who got them as part of his inheritance and was living off the grid.

He also said that they have many similar stories and that they could write a book with them.

The former head of the Assassin's Creed franchise says Ubisoft asked him to step down. He clarified in a LinkedIn post that the leadership of the franchise was given to someone else, and he was asked to step aside. (Marc-Alexis Côté)
Apparently, Mexico wants to tax violent video games. They made a proposal to add an 8% tax to games rated “C” for 18+ and “D” for adult only, and it would apply to physical and digital copies. (Insider Gaming)
Marvel Rivals is adding their first PvE mode. NetEase announced that their hero shooter will get a new limited-time Zombie Mode inspired in the Marvel Zombies series. The mode will release on October 23. (Niche Gamer)
Dead Space co-creator is making calls on Dead Space 4. Since Electronic Arts is in the process of been sold, he is hoping that someone will buy the IP and do something with it. (GameSpot)
SONY dismisses Tencent's appeal as "nonsense". The ongoing dispute between both companies regarding the game Light of Motiram which is a little too similar to the Horizon series. (GamerBraves)

💎Recently in Vtubing

Twitch Streamer Emiru got assaulted on the first day of Twitch Con.

She was doing her meet-and-greet when it happened, and it showed how inefficient Twitch's security is.

Emiru would later upload a video on her YouTube channel sharing more details like, how Twitch's security didn't do anything, and how her manager had to pressure Twitch staff to permanently ban the aggressor from attending any events in the future.

🎪Events

Duck harpy vtuber, Kanna Yanagi is launching a new vtuber VSMP. In this new server, there will be 2 VSMP seasons. One will start on February 2026 and the next one will start on September of that same year. (@Yanagi_Kanna)
Hololive will display a Fanart Exhibition at Hololive English’s official pop-up store. “Chronicles of hololive EN: THE NEXUS GATE -ActⅠ: The Portal Awakens-” started on October 6th and ends November 2nd, 2025. (HololivePro)
Nijisanji and Nijisanji EN will perform at the Anime x Game Festival Korea 2025. The event is called "Singing in the Rainbow" and will take place at the Seoul stage on December 7 and the full stream will be available on YouTube for free. (@NIJISANJI_World)
