Nintendo new patent might ruin the gaming industry.
They have been on a legal battle against Palworld for a while and even though they have performed shady tactics like patenting key features and later modifying them mid-lawsuit to try to catch them off guard, they are now taking it one step further.
Recently, they patented the ability to summon characters or monsters to then make them fight for you. This is a key feature in Palworld, but it also affects thousands of games from hundreds of companies throughout the industry.
A videogame IP lawyer rightfully called it "An embarrassing failure of the US patent system".

- The community brought back The Crew... kinda. Fans of the crew have worked on a project for players to enjoy the game again. It doesn't work on pirated copies, though. (Video Games Chronicles)
- GOG Comments on Payment Processors' Steam Censorship. In an interview with Automaton West, a GOG Senior described the censorship as a "game preservation issue,". (GameRant)
- Xbox for PC and handheld are getting an upgrade. Players now get an aggregated game library, cloud playable games, and access other storefronts right from your app. (XBox Wire)
- Borderlands 4 is getting heat for its poor performance issues. The CEO of Gearbox responded with: "Please get a refund from Steam if you aren’t happy with it". (Insider Gaming)
- Despite the legal battle, PocketPair announced the launch of Palworld 1.0. They mentioned they are going quite for a bit to polish their game as much as possible before the release on 2026. (Palworld)

The Wei Chuan Dragons × Hololive night collaboration brought record-breaking crowds to Taipei Dome.
Gigi, Raora, and FUWAMOCO appeared on big screens in the event in a mix of exclusive video messages, rally announcements, songs, and pre-recorded content.
This event was held on August 29, 30, and 31, 2025 and the collab brought numbers the stadium has never seen before in visits and sales.

- Hololive is removing PayPal and Shop Pay from its stores. They announced on their official blog that they will no longer be accepting payment from these methods. (Shop Hololive)
- YouTube is adding new monetization and streaming features. Creators can now insert brand segments into their videos. Also, YouTube streams will now combine vertical and horizontal formats. (YouTube)
- Neurosama and Vedal invaded CDawg's Canvas page. The strongest AI and her turtle father have rallied their community to invade the page with art of Neuro, Vedal, and their friends. (GameSpot)
- Gigguk from the Trash Taste Podcast released his first anime short film. The short was called Baan, and it tells the story of two people in a fantasy world trying to find a place where they truly belong. (Gigguk)
